The DMB performance at outside lands music festival was awesome and packed with energy. Dave really struggled with his voice but fought threw it with force. This was my first show out of five this tour and I was curious to see how the new songs were going to sound. I expected Funny to open but instead we got:
WHY I AM: Surprised to hear this one open but it was really great and the crowd got into it.
YOU MIGHT DIE TRYING: groaned with this started but it was pretty solid. They've really got this one down. Maybe the best live song off Stand Up
DON'T DRINK THE WATER: This song is a monster with Tim Reynolds again. Sounded very refreshed and best version I've seen in many years
STAY OR LEAVE: Dave struggled to hit the high notes but was beautiful. My first time seeing it and was blown away. Great song.
SPACEMAN: not really into it, kind of boring
CORNBREAD: Enjoyed Dave's dance, the song though was lame
LIE IN OUR GRAVES: Nice!!! one of my all time favorites and Boyd was jamming strongly on this one. Great to see him moving around up there. Nice to see the reprise especially since it has not been played a lot this year
AlLIGATOR PIE: This was pretty solid and had fun dancing to it. Enjoyed the footage on the screens
SHAKE ME LIKE A MONKEY: crowd love it and so did I. One of the better ones off wiskey
GRAVEDIGGER: first time seeing it live, very powerful and the graves on the back screen were simply haunting
JIMI THING: ok version, Fergie and Will I Am came out of nowhere near the end. Was pretty surprised and the crowd really ate it up. Will I am and Dave had a hilarious dance off. A real fun moment
YOU AND ME: sounded like the cd which is certainly not a bad thing, nice song
ANTS MARCHING: I never get tired of this song! everyone was dancing like crazy and the band was having a lot of fun. Jam was not as long as other versions of late but went straight into:
TWO STEP: Sick seque!! Very happy to hear this as always and Tim's solo and Carter's drum solo were special. This song is sounding great these days
ENCORE:
Saw the steel pedal and knew it would be Robert Randolph coming out to join DMB.
WATCHTOWER: figured this to close, first time seeing Dave do the Stairway lyrics, was pretty cool. Randolph blew me away, easily the best song of the night. Mindblowing...
THANK YOU: Was not expecting this and also first time seeing it for me. Randolph added some good fills and got the crowd moving. Great closer and a perfect end to a strong show. Very happy to have ended up in the 15th row after sleeping in and getting to the festival later than planned.

This was a good show and despite Dave's voice problems (which he notes during the show) the band sounded good. It's always tough with the festival crowd since everyone is tired after a long day of music and the band is likely to draw a crowd that isn't as full of fans as a typical show. That said, this was a fun day and DMB finished things off quite nicely. Disappointments included Robert Randolph out for Watchtower (seen that before) and I could have done without an appearance by the folks in Black Eyed Peas... also Thank You (the 2nd and final song in the encore) really dragged on way, way too long. Then again, at my 9th DMB show I finally got to see Lie In Our Graves, and after 3 shows in 2009 I finally got one of my BWGGK favorites, Shake Me Like A Monkey. Success.

Unfortunately, Dave's voice was f'kd and he didn't sound very good. Also, bringing Fergie out to screw up Jimi Thing was one of my worst Dave moments ever.

This was honestly a very enjoyable show for me. My 4th show which includes shoreline and N1/3 at the greek. I enjoyed the show a lot and enjoyed hearing all the new songs and I also got front row with two of my best friends. I don\'t want to rank my shows since the greek will never be topped and shoreline was my first show and was absolutely AMAZING...so its hard for me to put this anywhere but at the bottom for me Highlights - FRONT ROW!!!! -Got a setlist!!!!! - First Lie In Our Graves and All Along the Watchtower - Boyd actually stepped out and soloed more than i have heard at any show which was nice...its easy to forget him - Purple Haze Interpolation in Two Step - Robert F***in Randolph!!!!! Un-highlights -Cranky girl that tried to jack my front row spot after we had been their all day...but we got her kicked out :) -Daves voice was SHOT!!!! Because of this, he didn\'t play the two songs i really wanted...squirm and Baby Blue -Crowd missed singing Jimi Thing...i heard carter do the drum intro and started singing but no one else did?!?!?! WTF!??!?!?! As you can see the highlights out weigh the lowlights...it was a great time and i hope next year we get a regular show...this festival stuff is not the same especially since the crowd didn\'t seem into it...

this was my virgin Dave Matthews Band show. I have been a fan for a long time but never seen a show. this was seriously the greatest musical night of my life. I have been to tons of concerts but I have never been to anything like this before. it was the most amazing thing I have ever seen. plus it was leaning on the rail the whole night, right in the front. though I had to get there at 2:45 in the morning to get in line for that spot it was totally worth it.

Probably my least favorite show, Dave's voice was shot, festival shows are difficult because of the crowds and sightline. But the poster was amazing and it now sits framed in my house!

Good energy, weird/interesting show, not a DMB type of crowd... great YMDT and Cornbread

Did anyone notice Dave:
- Forgot a verse on Cornbread
- String on guitar broke
- Waited for crowd to sing to Jimi (with no response)
- Did not start Two Step lyrics on time

The worst of the 10 shows I have been to by far. Dave's voice was wrecked, and the show just didn't have the sizzle. The crowd wasn't that into it either which didn't help.

His voice may have been rough, but by damn he meant every word. Despite the embarrassment that Jimi Thing turned into (goddamn you Fergie Ferg), it was definitely in the top 5 of my 15 shows. The new stuff sounded great, and Two Step and Watchtower were the best versions of those two songs i've ever seen or heard. Period. And that's out of 9 Two Steps and 8 Watchtowers that i've seen in person. Unreal. Awesome show. A freaking classic
