The Clearwater Concert, Pete Seeger's Birthday, Madison Square Garden, New York, NY
Wonderful feel-good show, with giants of folk music, and a mellow attentive participatory audience. Dave only did 1 song, and his rendition of Rye Whiskey was brilliant.
AN amazing performance!!!
"Rye Whiskey" was nuts. The rest of the show was up and down though.
Got there pretty late, still saw a bunch of great performers. Had a nice view from behind the stage, and got the tix for only 20 bucks. No complaints.
Dave was the second to last performer. Bruce Springsteen and Tom Morello went on last. Dave came onto stage introduced himself and then said,"I should introduce myself as David cause that's the name my mom gave me. I went to my first concert with my mom and it was a Pete Seeger concert." He then played a terrific version of Rye Whiskey and wished Pete a happy b-day.
During This Land is Your Land, Joan Baez pretty much boxed Dave out of a microphone. All in all an interesting evening.
