Rivals as the best show Ive ever seen of them, right up there with last years Sunday night. Finally got to see Watchtower finale, awesome. Time Bomb really put a damper on the encore and wish they would have played #41/Crush, but One Sweet World opener and Say Goodbye were unbelievable. Definitely went out of Alpine Valley on a high note.

Great show! Great Energy! Loved Dave's shades. Watchtower was one of the best versions I've heard. Played most of the classics. Totally different feel from night 1.
Loved how they used Thank You during Jimi Thing break, good to get that song out of the way and replace with something better.

I really enjoyed seeing ZBB (also one of my favorites) however, it must have been where I was....(in the lawn, it always is a good time...just not this one) fans were too worried about drinking. Although the age range seems to be off the charts for any Dave show, the youngsters did not know the words and if they did, were throwing up by the time a song they knew came on. This was my first time to Alpine and the venue is ancient but the overall crowd feel around me just didnt sit right with me.

After a day of searching for my keys, convincing Jeremy and Jen to attend yet another Dave Matthews show, and convincing everyone not to hate me...this was a GREAT Dave show! Thet really should make mention of the Star Spangled Banner being played as the intro to Watchtower in the show notes. I was waiting for it all weekend and...hurrah!!! Say Goodbye, awesomeness, and I'll Back You Up was amazing, especially after hearing about the sign.

Sensational show - just like Sunday night last year. You could tell from the beginning that the Daveophiles were present. The crowd was more into it and so were Dave and the Band. It was electric feeling the whole night - like a charge was coming from the threatened lightning that never appeared.

This was the best show I've been to even though I've only gone to 4 shows. I had never dreamed I'd ever get the chance to be so close to the guys and their music...but I had to run a mile into the ampitheatre to do it because I wasn't going to make the fast pass lane in time with the slow moving traffic. Even though I was dead tired and probably very dehydrated(I hadn't been drinking anything because I didn't want to have to leave the pit to use the bathroom and lose my spot) I was literally the happiest I've ever been and felt like I was in a euphoric state that I didn't ever want to end. To be less than 10 feet away from boyd as he jams away and see the emotions and expressions up close was amazing. I don't think I'll ever have a show like that again...and it all ended on a high note when boyd walked over to us and I got to shake his hand.

Excellent show. I thought the Creek was the best until Alpine. It was my first weekend and it didn't disappoint. I can't believe we got Say Goodbye. Only played one time last year and that was at creek. Great first 3 songs. It's ridiculous to complain I know, but why not Rapunzel and crush instead of time bomb and Watchtower Any thoughts on that?

After seeing night 1, I was expecting a lot. I was expecting this show to be epic. With the fact that it was July 4th, Dave and Crew put on a crazier show on Sundays at Alpine, and considering their Hiatus coming up, I figured they would blow people away. Also with how great night 2 was last year, I expected a lot. I felt like they left a lot on the table. They did have a few suprises and played some great songs. I guess I was just asking a lot.

If i wouldnt have been to 5 shows already this summer before it would have been a decent show. Dont get me wrong, i am a HUGE Dave fan and i will enjoy every single show i attend. This show was just VERY close to the same setlist and noblesville just a week and a half before I was at. 4th of july/2nd night of Alpine, you gotta bring it.

Damn you could feel the energy from the crowd the whole night. The Jimi - Thank You combo was one of those live moments both the crowd and the band enjoyed. The debuts of DIDO, Say Goodbye, and I'll Back You Up were awesome surprises. Could have swore Halloween was coming on with that extended outro at Watchtower but this was just another long line of spectacular N2 shows at Alpine.

Good show, loved Bartender and Say Goodbye, epic Jimi Thing, but the energy kind of died after that until the encore, which was pretty terrific. I was starting to get pretty tired of Tim being a full-time member at this point; he was more of a distraction than an asset. Very hit-and-miss show overall, a definite step down from \'09.

I would like to go with 4.5 stars because I am so absolutely sick of hearing Cornbread and Watchtower, but the rest of the setlist was so solid that 4 stars just isn't enough. One Sweet World, Bartender and Everyday set the tone for the whole show and they delivered. Great energy throughout. Loved Say Goodbye, Drive In Drive Out, Grey Street and You Might Die Trying. It was a long weekend and I was running on empty for most of the show, but the band's energy and the phenomenal setlist kept me out of my seat. Bummed we didn't get an American Baby on 4th of July though.

Let's see, Alpine is one of their favorites, it was my 60th show, I have been to every Alpine show, I met the MAN!!!, and it ranks #1. You tell me how good it was! Watchtower from the Live at Red Rocks Release was the first song that ever got me interested in this amazing band and after 8 shows I finally got to hear it live and it even exceeded my expectations. Loved the setlist and was a perfect weekend for me. Other highlights were OSW opener, Bartender, Break for It, Drive in Drive Out was Awesome, and Ill Back You up.

Overall a great show. I was very surprised and excited to hear Drive In Drive Out which is a favorite of mine. Some other highlights for me were Say Goodbye when the upper left hand section of the lawn lit up sparklers all at the same time. The Thank You chant was also awesome during Jimi Thing. I was hoping to hear Cry Freedom or had a far fetched hope they would play American Baby, given it was July 4th. Alittle bored with the Watchtower closer even though the Intro was sweet. Cant wait for Wrigley.

Went with Travis Huey, and stayed with Matt Friemel at his place in Chicago. We drove back from the concert each night, probably not the safest idea. Tailgating was amazing, so many people. We met Alyssa Chico possible Mayor Gery Chicos daughter and Veronica Zendejas. We got flights and tickets last minute for this show.

My 11th Alpine show and 28th overall.
Great to hear OSW back - probably my favorite opener! That and Everyday had me thinking this was going to be an 'Alpine greatest hits' show.
My first 'Break For It' - pretty cool tune, looking forward to hearing the tapes on it. Only my second 'Say Goodbye' - absolutely perfect for this night.
Just like last year N2, these guys fooled me with the closer. First I thought it was Billies, then YMDT, THEN it was Ants!
Love Time Bomb in the encore and though the Star Spangled Banner into Watchtower was predictable, it was probably the only thing that was tonight.
Great show and for the 6th year in a row (at least) N2 tops N1 handily. It was great to see the July 4 activities - Dave with the sparkler, fireworks on the horizon during the show, and the sparklers that broke out on the lawn. Just added to the festive atmosphere.

I was in the pit and while it was nice to be close, I wasn't a fan of the pit (will not do it again). With that being said, the show was great. The energy at this show was crazy. The energy was high all night long and the set made sure it stayed that way. Amazing end to another great Alpine weekend.

Would have been a 5 if it werent for all of the people who came in late and overtook our spot on the lawn, then we decided to make our way to the top of the hill... Not really a big fan of the lawn. This was my 35th show and only the second on the lawn. Have to say, Ill never be on the lawn again. A great show ruined.

Sat VIP Center tonight. Could be my favorite show ever. Second year in a row Carter has thrown me a stick. Made for a great 30th Show! (Still haven’t heard True Reflections live though although Dave pointed us out while holding it up between songs. Thought I saw Boyd laugh about it too).
Loved the new song “Break For It”. Also the end of the set from the mid set Dave solo “Needle and The Damage Done” to Ants was amazing end. Then to get I’ll Back You Up, Time Bomb reprise from night before, National Anthem and Watchtower made for 1 Sweet World for me.
Also liked the Thank You For LettinMe Be Myself Again reprise from two years ago when 200 of us stuck around for 45 minutes after the show and chanted that through the parking lot.

This was my very first Dave show! I was very disappointed that there were no cameras allowed and after being frisked had to take a mile hike back to the car to put my camera away...but once inside the show I quickly forgot about that when the music started. It didn't take me long to see why people love Dave shows so much and why they're so drawn to seeing him every time he comes around on tour!!

Only my 5th show but BY FAR the best. One Sweet World to open was a very pleasant surprise... Drive in Drive Out rocked and Say Goodbye was unbelievable. Well, what can I say. It's N2 at Alpine! N2 is always better than N1 and this year was no different. Started off with One Sweet World -> Bartender -> Everyday...knew it was going to be a great night. I normally don't dish out 5-star ratings unless the show was unbelievable. BUT, I FINALLY got Drive In, Drive Out which I had never seen live out of 20 shows spanning 14 years. So, it felt really good to finally reign in that unicorn!
I could have done without the Time Bomb -> Watchtower closer but the crowd loves it and the boys rock it so c'est le vie. I'm going to miss my happy place in 2011...see everyone in 2012!

Set list was average... loved hearing One Sweet World to open. Say goodbye always rocks! Watchertower was the best song of the night, even after they were rocking out for 3 full hours. Fans were off the wall crazy for this show in the pavalion! Going to miss that Alpine feeling next year... We'll have to bring it to Wrigley to show the band a proper exit

For 12 years I have attended shows at SPAC....
In recent history, there is only one show that has measured up to the past few SPAC2 shows... That's ALPINE2.
I planned an entire weekend in Chicago/Geneva lake to ensure my first experience at Alpine would be amazing...
Night 1 was great.
Night 2 was the most electric show the band has played to date, and may be the peak of the band.
Having center seats 2 rows behind the pit and dabbling with fungi made it even more incredible.
The gentleman who wouldn't switch seats (121, 131) should be shot.
I always laugh when people write this, but I'm going to do it....

Awesome setlist as usual for Night Two at Alpine Valley... There appeared to be something wrong with the speaker system on the side of the venue which caused the sound to randomly go in and out during certain parts of songs, but regardless, the rarities for this show made it an instant classic... First time seeing Break For It, Needle, DIDO and IBYU, and none of them disappointed.
