Dave was really in the zone - started drinking the thermos early which is always a good sign for things to come. Highlights were: So Right, 41 and Crush.

Started amazingly, ended mediocre-ly. Long Black Veil, Minarets, Two Step, Billies, STJL. Can't really complain about a set with those in it. Enjoyed it more than I expected to. The thing that pushes this to a 4 instead of a 3 is the crowd was REALLY into it. I loved that.

In the PIT for Darien this year!!! Kate and I paid a load extra to get there but man was it worth it! Hung out with the Darone's and their crew. Got some major thunderstorms but that's to be expected at Darien. VIP parking made getting out of there so amazing!! The most amazing show I've seen. PIT is IT!!

Venue - this place needs an update or a rebuild. and soon. The whole place just looked and felt dirty.
Acoustic - loved Nancies to start. Some of the songs are feeling like they are being played a lot in this set, but still seem fresh because of the format (if that makes sense).
Electric - not sure how to say this other than to relate the amount of times I found myself thinking, \"Again?!\" when a song started. I love Crush as much as the next guy, but there are so many great songs from BTCS we don\'t ever seem to hear (I\'m talking to you The Stone/Dreaming Tree/Spoon). Then to get Belly Belly Nice (9 of 11 shows this summer) and If Only (8 of 11) leaves me wondering why not Broken Things/The Riff/Drunken Soldier. Those songs are great too.
I left half way through Jimi thinking I was just leaving more of the same, so I missed what looks like a good ending/encore. Sorry to have missed Jane, but I bet I hear it and Grey St. some other show this summer. Was not sorry to miss the traffic getting out of that lot and to have been home by 1:00.
I am still very much looking forward to seeing the band 2 nights in Hartford and 3 in Berkeley, just desperately hoping Dave finds a way to mix some other great tunes into the sets. Even great songs played as often as they are can leave ya feeling \"Again?!\"

Solid show except for a few slow spots. Don't really have a strong opinion of the lovely ladies, don't really get all the hate. Anyways, it rained again, because it's Darien, but the crowd still seemed into it and it was a great atmosphere.

34th show. Safe, but solid show! The band seems very tight and already in mid tour form. My highlights were So Right into #41 and Veil. The LL were not bad at all, I like there energy.

Can't believe Darien got such a good set. Stay with the Lovely Ladies was unreal. My friend got her first Jane in 57 shows. Stage is very high so wouldn't recommend rail AT ALL. Center Center of pit was perfect. First time seeing Lovely Ladies and of course it rained all day.

I still cannot get past the Lovely Ladies returning. Of course this has to happen when I am going on a 5 show run across the East Coast. It's like they timed it perfectly to screw me and a lot of other true fans that witnessed the 1999-2001 shows over.
It is pretty sad state of affairs when you can guarantee You & Me and Stay even before the show begins. These may be the two worst songs in the band's career. You can also guarantee either LBV (which is a great song normally) or Save Me (which stinks).
They played nothing in this show that I have not seen them do a bunch of times. TSTJL is the only thing preventing the show from getting 1 Star. Cannot wait for the Steely Dan tour to begin so the Ladies are not with DMB anymore this summer. July 2nd cannot get here soon enough.

Four Lovely Ladies songs tonight. Like three wasn't enough. They are single-handily ruining this tour. Set list was very bad tonight. Jane in the encore was a nice surprise. Still, I can't get past having the Ladies contribute to four songs (especially when three of them are Save Me, You & Me, and Stay).

2 set format is awesome. Great setlist in both sets. Lovely Ladies were a nice addition (regardless of the naysayers). Crowd was into it all night. LBV and STJL were highlights.

Thought the band sounded incredibly tight for just about all of the show. Only a couple of missteps. Dave's voice is in fantastic form.
At SPAC I wasn't sure about how the acoustic set played, particularly to the lawn, but SPAC lawn is tough (loved the spac n2 1st setlist choices though). The "acoustic" set at Darien played to the lawn much better, probably because it's way easier at Darien to connect w/the band from the lawn (sightlines and all). I quotation acoustic out of sarcasm. 6 of 8 songs were full band jamming tunes. Bonus as far as I'm concerned. Although Stolen Away is not a rocker, that is one bad ass song that showcases the versatility & musicianship of the band. Tight tight tight.WWYS was killer.
Regarding the ladies, I used to enjoy them as a change of pace, but they were on their game back in the day. They are RUSTY and haven't found the groove at this point. Very nice to hear Long Black Veil again. Even though the set 2 list looks average, it played to the night really well.

To pcarnace or whatever... don't go to the show then, simple as that. What kind of absolute melon gives a show with 41, Nancies, Minarets, Billies, WWYS, When the World Ends, Veil, Crush, Jane, and Grey Street 1 star? Are you sure you like DMB and didn't accidentally buy tickets to the wrong show?

5 star all the way. I'm getting older so I was exhausted by the end. Couldn't ask for a better start to a show. I for one love The Lovely Ladies. I would have loves a 15 minute Angel. I havent seen them since Ralph Wilson 2001.So many spoiled brats here, do me a favor and find another band that gives as much as these guys. You wont find it.
