First time seeing the acoustic thing. It was alright. Carter\'s kit was pretty tight. LIOG was def the highlight, still like it better electric. It\'d be cool to have a larger horn section, like the Roots back in 06 or something, but wishful thinking... Pee break at Sweet and Ants. Really don\'t care for Sweet and I\'ve seen Ants a bunch. Minarets Stone Jane opener was so amazing. Best I\'ve seen since Lakeside N3. Got me really pumped for the show, almost left. Save Me was meh. Crush is always solid. Write a song was meh. Can\'t go wrong with back to back cunnilingus songs. If Only was meh. Killer run at the end, not a huge SMTS fan tho. Encore was meh. Left once they started with Shake Me. Should\'ve left after Grey St. I really wanted to see Luda. Everything with an apostrophe has a slash for some reason

Very good show. The poor ranking is for the venue. It doesn\'t even come close to Alpine Valley for atmosphere or experience. Early in the electric set, the speakers went out. I could faintly hear the music for the rest of the show.

No Alpine? No problem. We started our day at the Lakeside Brewery where we came for the beer and stayed for the jokes. Along for the ride were Kara, PJKrock29, and B-Rad. Right off the bat, Brad starts off with the hijinks by stealing a handful of free beer tokens. It turns out this place does not serve Miller Lite so I had a case of the Klipsch all afternoon. It turns out Brad is a pimp now, too, so he did his best to score hot dates with the women at the bar. I also saw my long lost friend Kevy MeKa$h. We finally made it out of there and over the the mound of trash and crapulence that is the Summerfest grounds. It started to rain and we paid high prices for low quality food. After what could only be described as an eternity, we made it into the dilapidated venue and I continued to stand shoulder to shoulder with Milwaukee\\\\\\\'s \\\\\\\"finest\\\\\\\" until I could find my seat. It should be noted that this was the first of many times Brad played his precious game of Cat and Mouse. Taking off way ahead of the rest of us, hiding in the bushes until we had passed, and then sneaking up behind us and asking what took so long in an exasperated fashion. After second hand smoking a carton of electronic cigarettes and witnessing some touching and rubbing between the couple in front of us that is more often seen on Skintemax, the show began... and what a show. How about those two sets? I loved the acoustic set, except Stolen and Ants. The Paul Simon opener was great. Does Rashawn have anything to contribute to this band? It\\\\\\\'s time for him to bow out. Plus, I think he had a case of the scoots because he kept leaving the stage during the first part of the show. Electric set was awesome too. Minarets opener and too many others to name... I\\\\\\\'ll just point out that I loved the Too Much fake and the Needle/Drunken/Shake encore. Jeff earned all of my respect back too by playing flute instead of sax on Rhyme and What Would you Say. All of the band took some risks by changing it up, except Rashawn of course. Stefan even had a costume change and Tim dressed like Easy E for the encore. Only duds were Crush, Ants, and Grey. All in all it was a top five show (most shows just go in the chum bucket). After we tried to go to Ludacris and Pauly D but both got shut down on account of poor taste. I promised that I would spin some records while Pauly K spit some rhymes in the car. See you next year. Let\'s not forget about the Heartbreaker interpolation in Anyone Seen the Bridge. Not even the almanac caught that one. Also, what was with that creepy puppet show during Seven?

The two-set formula is weak. This show had zero flow until Warehouse, which was a terrific version, although the beginning of the regular set was superb with Minarets>Stone, and Crush was pretty great although Tim\'s contributions were awkward. How can that be the tone he\'s going for? Encore was a complete dud. This venue is also terrible and I hope they never play here again. I left feeling I\'d caught about a quarter of a solid DMB show.

Great show. The last 6 songs of the electric set were awesome. Probably similar to the last time they played Summerfest well over a decade ago. The Marcus is smaller but Alpine is far better as the band always knocks it out of the park there. Hopefully next year will be at Alpine.

My 17th show overall but my 1st at the Marcus Amphitheater. It rained throughout the acoustic set but stopped for the main set. Boy this show had a funny vibe to it. The acoustic set was very mellow and the crowd was not really into it at all until Ants Marching. That closed out the acoustic set nicely and fired up the crowd for the insane main set. Boy was the crowd pumped during that whole set. The band played a good mix of old classics and new songs. The run of Minarets>Stone>STJL>Save Me>Crush was epic! Drunken soldier is a perfect encore song in my opinion. Overall I had a really nice time. The bleachers are not the ideal seats but I enjoyed myself with other loyal ants. It was nice talking with others from out of state. Beers were not cheap but I only needed two. Very good show and a very good night. See you next year!

This is my second DMB show outside of Alpine Valley and it was a good one. My friend, Juke, lives walking distance from Summer Fest so that was a nice bonus of having the show there as opposed to Alpine. We squeezed a classy cookout and a trashy Dave Matthews Band power hour into a very short time and managed not to burn the place down so everything was running smoothly. That all ended when we got into the dilapidated Summer Fest grounds, and especially the Marcus Amphitheater itself. Whatever drunk they hired to design that place, well, they need to get their money back. Between people trying to get to their seats, to others getting to the bathrooms and others trying desperately to get to the food/overpriced beer stands, it was a bit of a nightmare. We were some of the poor saps trying to get to the beer line and unfortunately missed what would have been an incredible acoustic opener of Paul Simon's 'Slip Slidin Away.' But were we having fun throughout all of this? Of course we were. (Hopefully Dave Matthews himself or at the very least Rashawn, the heavy hitter of the band, sees this and vows to stick to Alpine when they roll through WI in the future) I really enjoyed the acoustic set, especially the Lie In Our Graves featuring Boyd's brilliant violin solo. Ants may be over-played but I actually didn't mind it for a closer for the first set. In fact, you might say I enjoyed it. Minerets > The Stone > The Song That Jane Likes > Crush was a great way to kick off the electric set. The Too Much fake into What Would You Say was a fun surprise as well. We brought miniature American flags into the show since the 4th of July was only two days away and my friend Steph was really getting crazy and rocking out with them at this point. Very patriotic. The Needle and The Damaged done was fun since I love the song and the fact that the majority of people around me (I think Steph and Juke included) had no idea what it was. Drunken Solider is a highlight off the last album and always welcomed to hear and finally, Shake Me Like a Monkey was a good way to end the show. All in all, a very good show. So Dave Matthews, if you're reading this tell the boys nice job but next time, sell out Alpine instead of the Marcus. Deal?

Only two quick complaints - the venue was terrible (hope to God they haven't played their final show at Alpine already) and the Shake Me encore was a huge letdown after the amazing first 2 sets. Highlight of the "acoustic" set for me was LIOG. The Minarets-Stone-Jane start of the 2nd set was unbelievable, and Minarets had the awesome rap/chant intro. First Big Eyed Fish for me as well! Boyd was on fire all night, and the band sounded really good overall.

My 40th show overall and first at Summerfest. The coolest (weather-wise) show I have seen. It was around 58 and cloudy with a light mist at the start - strange vibe. I think Dave referred to it as a 'frezee breeze.' The place was half empty at 7 but somehow seemed packed by 745. Acoustic highlights - Slip Slidin\' Away, SDL (needed the \'Thank You\' outro), LIOG and Ants. Electric highlights - Minarets into The Stone for sure! Started thinking maybe we were going to get an \'Alpine-like\' show at this point, but things quickly calmed down and that would not be the case. I love the new ending to Save Me and Crush is always spectacular. Big Eyed Fish was a nice late-set surprise and Grey Street was a solid closer. Overall a really good show, maybe top 15ish for me - I will have to look at my stats.

I went in a little uncertain of how I would like the acoustic set, but most of the songs were great and it felt like you were watching them in a more intimate setting. LIOG was a highlight with Boyd standing at the front of the stage by himself jamming for what seemed like a good five minutes. The crowd loved it and he did the same during the Ants breakdown. Stolen Away was a treat, although it wasn't all that appreciated by the majority in attendance. Minarets, Stone, Jane, Save Me and Crush got the electric set off to a rolling start. It was my first Save Me and it was a pleasant surprise, really enjoyed the energy. The Crush outro featured some fun new tricks from Carter, he always finds a way to keep it fresh. The momentum of the set went downhill from Write a Song through If Only. If Only sucked the life out of the place. The SMTS>ASTB>WWYS run was solid and Grey Street was an awesome set closer, the jam with Jeff and Rashawn was on point. The encore was a little disappointing, I'm sorry I just can't buy Shake Me as an encore closer. This show gets a solid B.

Celebrated 10 years of DMB concerts at big show #30. I'm down to only attending 1-2 shows a year now, but this one did not disappoint, as I was not sure what to expect with the acoustic set. However, it was not what I thought it was going to be and it was amazing to see three acoustic guitars up there sometimes, along with Stefan playing an upright bass sometimes. Just magic! Then to hear Minarets>Stone>STJL to open the second set was amazing! Had a wedding over July 4 weekend and was totally bummed to miss the Chicago shows....but hopefully they'll return to Alpine next summer.....when hopefully the shows don't seem all so similar. Great night all around though....thanks again to the greatest band in the universe!

Marcus ampitheater... just no. You could feel that the band didn't want to be there anymore than we did. Very small venue, and the sound system was broken for most of the night. It was so depressing we ended up driving to the gorge to get our dmb fix -so I guess it worked out for the best. Band was awesome as always, but this was the worst possible venue for them. Never again!
