The Lovely Ladies! F**K!!!! Wish they would never play with the band again for the rest of my life. They ruined Drunken Soldier. Came close to vomiting when they walked out on the stage.

Having seen the MKE show, I was hoping for zero repeats this weekend. That hope was crushed on the first song, then the second song, then Ants and Sweet. Not really anything to be too excited about in the acoustic set. No real flow, kind of bland. WWYS and Ants were the highlights. Covers and Sweet were not fun for me. The electric set started amazingly. Big fan of the first 3 songs. If Only was meh. OSW was good, Satellite was meh. BBN 7 was cool, but I had just heard that combo the night before. SMTS into Billies was good. First time seeing the Lovely Ladies, so that was nice Covers to close a set was interesting choice, but I liked both of them tho so that was good. Encore was solid.

I'll admit up front that this rating is not very fair because it was a solid show. #41 opener and Long Black Veil with the Lovely Ladies were high points. Like most, I'm still disappointed there was no Alpine this year. My only show was going to be Summerfest. The venue was horrible but the show was very good, so I made a last minute decision to add Chicago. Unfortunately, most of the low points from Summerfest were repeated in Chicago. I was hoping they would maybe treat this more like a night 2 of 3 to make up for Alpine, but instead I got 12 repeated songs.

Great show. Really impressed with how good the BW and AFTW songs sounded. I thought they played a nice balance of old and new tunes. Was in the pit and could tell the the band was having a really great time... Dave, Carter, and Stefan, especially, seemed to be in a terrific mood and they were clearly happy to be there doing what they do!

I feel like this show is being overlooked by some. With this being my 15 show in 15 years, this is why I feel this show was absolutely spectacular. The acoustic set didn't feature any D+T only songs but was still solid with the band. So Damn Lucky was a great opener and even though its a radio song, Crash was a nice touch to hear early on. Boyd was on his game for Ants, Sweet and Take Me to Tomorrow were nice touches and closing with WWYS was the icing on the cake for an opening set. Very diverse and eclectic. First words out of my mouth for set II: "Holy S@#T!" To open with #41 as the sun was setting was incredible and Boyd's extended solo was perfect. DDTW was as high energy as it always is but having "This Land" at the conclusion was a nice surprise. As OSW started, the screens showed the fireworks over Navy Pier so we had fireworks exploding to the instrumental opener. The Lovely Ladies coming out on Drunken Soldier was a nice surprise and they did a fantastic job without taking away from the song. Long Black Veil?! Yes please! Hard not to love this song, especially with how rare it is to hear anymore. Closing with Sledgehammer was the the greatest surprise of the night. Holy S@#T!!! Space Between was a great way to start the encore and Grey Street was full of ridiculous energy to close out the show. The fans in my section were great and everyone had a fun time singing and dancing without being obnoxious. Even got to see a proposal after So Damn Lucky. All in all this was a great show and the Ladies did not take anything away but rather brought a nice and unexpected change to the evening.

Good show. The venue sucked and it was a long walk from our parking lot around the marina to get to the show. Those concerns were quickly forgotten as we made our way to the pit. Found new ants who were cool with our group of 4 who bet on set list openers with us (ken, Jc, Allie, josh). Acoustic crowd kept distance and we all had fun. Set list left a little to be desired as I don\'t go to shows to hear satellite, crash, and what would you say. Seen them too many times for those \"radio\" songs. Liked the lovely ladies and long black veil and sledgehammer were awesome! The electric set people creeped way to close and we couldn\'t dance around much without bumping people. We moved off center for more space. People need to accept the fact that you won\'t be in first 3 rows if u arrive at 7:15. Carter gave two sticks to a little girl perched on her dads shoulders which says a lot about the band. Love it!

Generic performance. Wasn't feeling that this was a "special" performance. Venue had a lot to do with the "generic" feel (not like Alpine). No Star-Spangled Stefan intro, no Watchtower. Curfew hampered set list and potential for extended outros.

Really confused by the other ratings, I thought this was a great show. The acoustic set was a little bit slower than what I've seen on the tour so far, but still strong. And the electric set had a great build up into the encore. I know a lot of people take issue with the Lovely Ladies, but I would never spit at Long Black Veil, and I was absolutely thrilled to see Sledgehammer. Only my third show so far this tour, but definitely the best yet, and certainly one of the best I've been to in years.

I thought the show was good. Not spectacular, but good. Not the strongest set list, but some great highlights with LBV and Sledgehammer. Plus I love when Dave sings Take Me to Tomorrow. The venue itself was awful in my opinion. Not easy to get to and certainly not easy to get back to the city after the show - a long walk! I was in the Pit for both nights and with the stage being 7 or 8 feet high, it was impossible to see anything unless you were off the rail (which I get there early for). But, all in all, I am happy with this show!

Ants and WWYS say were the highlights of the acoustic set. The electric set was great! SMTS-Too Much Fake -Billies was incredible. Met Boyd earlier in the day outside the Peninsula hotel, and got a ride back downtown on one of the tour busses. What a weekend!

A fun show, but a bit uneven. The acoustic set was the least interesting I had seen this year (this was my 4th show of the tour). #41 as an opener for the electric set never quite works for me. I like the song but find it to be a strange opening song. The highlights of the evening were the appearance of some unexpected covers with Long Black Veil and Sledgehammer. One Sweet World was especially good tonight and I enjoyed Satellite with the jam intro as opposed to usual version. Night 2 was stronger. Unlike others that have commented, I personally enjoyed the Lovely Ladies. As I have seen many DMB shows, I like to see guest appearances and different versions of familiar songs. The Ladies worked for me.

I can\'t seem to figure out why people are complaining about the lovely ladies?? I was not overly impressed with the setlist to start. It was good, but no real highlights. As soon as Drunken soldier started playing, I knew something was up. Enter the ladies. They sounded amazing. And I knew as soon as they walked out I was finally going to get Long Black Veil at my 16th show... Save Me and Sledgehammer were amazing too. Closers were alright, good energy on Grey Street. SO for LBV and the ladies, I give this a 5. Will always be a special show. ...and 4th of July with fireworks and a Chicago backdrop with perfect weather... can\'t go wrong. Venue: Get reserved seats. Lawn is flat. Not much of a view. Big video screen in the middle helped. Sound was really really good where we were.

First night in the 'pit' if you would call it that. That was not a pit but a massive collective before the seats. Still loved seeing them full band that close and despite all the 'music video' songs they played it was the 4th and it was a great night. To the fans who think recording not just taking pictures of every song I hate you. The venue was horrible for viewing which I've noticed. Hell the lawn can't be seen from the pit and the place is fairly flat rearward. That being said the songs were all for the most part upbeat and fun to hear. Even satellite with the 'funky' intro was great. All in all I had a good time. Also the this land is your land was a very nice treat on the 4th but come on no Watchtower with a star spangled banner stefan?! Good thing I've heard it before coz that was disappointing.

Musically: Phenomenal show. Dug every single song they played. The only thing that makes me give a 3 star rating is the crowd and venue. Shit-faced people trying to fight everyone, everyone in the lawn was pushing their way forward and the lawn was flat. Hardly saw the stage because of lack of incline and people were everywhere in the way. Great weekend, look forward to more.

For my 36th show, I would have to rank this one in my top 10. A great mix of old and new, and the boys looked liked they where having a lot of fun up there. I loved seeing the lovely ladies back on stage. They just add a soulful element to show that really kicks it up a notch. Every song played was solid and they're starting to come into there groove with the newer ones. Anyone who rates this show less than a 4 clearly is not a true fan or they were blackout drunk. The only down side was that I wished it was at Alpine. I felt truly lucky to spend my 4th of July with DMB! See ya'll at night 2!

I thought it was a pretty good show. Yes, the venue was lacking compared to Alpine (minus the view of the skyline and he fireworks), but overall I thought the set list was good. The electric set was full of energy and I could tell the band was having a ton of fun, probably the most fun I've seen them have so far this summer. Since I've only been going to shows since 2011 I was happy to see the Lovely Ladies and what they could add to the newer songs. It was a good 4th of July!

This hurts, but I can\\\\\\\'t rank the show that high because of the awful venue. The lawn absolutely sucks. You can only see the big screen. No sight of the stage at all. The setlist was great, though, and Sledgehammer and Grey Street was off the wall. Just an awful, awful venue.

Weak acoustic set with a great electric set. People need to get over the LL's, seriously. They don't effect these songs negatively at all. They added volume to Save Me, LBV, and Sledgehammer that Dave can't quite do just by himself. A 15 min Angel from back in the day? Sure those were awful. They were completely fine tonight though. Also people giving this show a negative review because it's not Alpine are braindead. That's not the point of a show review. Overall solid show once again and a great time in the pit.
