GORGE! First time, camped-out solo and had a spectacular weekend! Visited friends in Vancouver WA before trekking up to George so that was icing on the cake! Met some cool people on the lawn too. :)

Any show at The Gorge is magical! Tight "family-like" atmosphere demonstrated by the band and shared with the crowd. With my family over 2,000 miles away, Dave really hit home singing Belly Full to his wife.

Being that home is 3.5 hours from the Gorge and I could not get work off on Friday, I didn't arrive to the show until just as the acoustic set was finishing. Upon entering the show, and looking for the "blue balloon" on the hillside to find my group, I was finally hear. As I found my group of 10+, I was disappointed to hear that I missed "Two Step" and "Stolen Away", even more so the latter because I have been craving "Stolen Away" since last played at the Gorge in 2008 during the Stand-Up tour. The show began and I was captivated that DmB chose to lead of with "DiDo". Loved it; what an unusual but great tune to get the leadoff spot. Next was "BEF" and my vocal chords were already strung. It is not that I am the biggest fan of "BEF" but it is one of my best friend's favorites and seeing him singing his heart out was that moment when I realized, "Fuck, I'm here again. 11 years straight and I love it as much as the first show". The next run of "Satellite"/"Seven"/"Bellyx2" was personally a dud for me. I felt the first 2 songs really had something special going and the 3 that followed were just place-holders. Thank god for "Crush". "Crush" was the absolute highlight of the night for me. "Crush" is easily in the Top 3 for me, as far as live songs ago and I was very appreciative that Dave did not hold back, even considering there was still the 2nd half of the show to go. "Ditch"/"Warehouse" kept that energy going that was re-established from "Crush". Usually I am not the biggest fan of pace-changers (Crush>Ditch) but in this case it just felt like the right thing to do, especially considering DmB brought it right back up with "Warehouse". "Mercy"/"Why I Am" were average, but I did take 2 positive notes from these two. 1) "Mercy" and the piano solo is always a treat and 2) with "Why I Am" being played this early I was grateful that it wasn't going to take up an encore slot, which I had noticed had been happening several times throughout the tour. "STJL" was a personal treat for me, was just bummed the rest of my group wasn't as familiar with it as I was. "PnP>Rapunzel" felt like the perfect closer to the main set. The energy was very high, and Thank God the speakers on the hillside actually brought the noise this year. Don't know what it was last year, most likely the wind, but it felt so quiet and Dave felt like he was miles away and we were only, maybe, 100 yards from the terrace spots.
Encore: Being completely honest...I felt the encore was a stink-bomb. I understand that anything is better than nothing, and Dave always has the option of just walking off the stage when the main set ends, but it did feel like something was left to be desired. If you are going to end with "YMDT" than I just felt the Dave "solo" and encore #2 should have been something more mearningful than "Belly Full" and "Good, Good Time"...just my opinion. I was only let down for a minute because I quickly realized we still had 2 more special nights coming.
Lowlight: missing acoustic set/run of "Satellite"/"Seven"/"Belly x2"/poor encore
Highlight: "Crush" saved it; "Ditch"/"Warehouse"

This was my first time at the Gorge. All 3 nights were amazing. The set lists had a great variety and the band was incredible. I was really impressed by this venue as well. Gorge security did a great job of making sure fans that had gotten in line early got in first and without being trampled by people behind them that had gotten there later. As a result we got the best spot on the lawn all 3 nights. It was fun to meet other fans and we danced the whole time. It was such a blast!

You know how you sometimes go to a show and in that moment you feel like it's the best DMB show you've ever been to, only to look up the set list the next day and find yourself surprised? Yeah, we'll this was somewhat the opposite. Wasn't digging the first half of the electric set but upon review the next day, I theoretically should have enjoyed it more.

This was my first time attending a Dave concert at the Gorge. The acoustic set was really enjoyable, and the electric set had its moments (Crush and Warehouse) but nothing too exciting song wise. I was also exited to hear Good Good Time in the encore. There is just a different type of atmosphere at the Gorge that you can’t experience anywhere else.
