Great show. Ladies add very little value to the show. The Stone saved this show from a very lame encore.

GORGE! First time, camped-out solo and had a spectacular weekend! Visited friends in Vancouver WA before trekking up to George so that was icing on the cake! Met some cool people on the lawn too. :)

One of the best shows Dave has put on since the passing of our favorite saxophonist.
I was able to enjoy the weather the people AND the set list like back in 2002!

N3 was my favorite night of the weekend for both enjoyment factor, group dynamics, seat locations and setlist. Having sat on the hillside for the past 5 shows, I was dying to get back down in to reserved seating. I have always perfered researved seating in my 11 years, but the majority of my group enjoys relaxing on the hillside. Well for tonight's show I wasn't going to be on the hillside again. No matter what I took. After spending an 1hr+ walking around the campground looking for 2 reserved tickets, I was out of ideas. I can honestly say, I can't believe how bare the campground seemed, and calm for that matter. In the past decade it has seemed that there was always scalpers walking around trying to sell tickets, but not this year. Thank god for Sara in our group that mentioned checking the "Ticket Exchange" on AW.org. How could I forget the "ticket exchange"? I had purchased all my tickets for all nights on the "ticket exchange" the past 3 years, including this year. Sara did the good deed of responding to a few post, and with in 10 minutes I was on the phone with a guy who would be arriving in the parking lot soon who would do 2 reserved tickets for $100. Deal.
Now it go tricky. We had 10 people, and only 2 tickets, but we were determined to get everyone in to reserved on these two tickets. Having done this many times in the past, where 2 people walk in with both tickets. We scope out a place where we can fit all 10 people and then 1 person exits reserved seating with both tickets and goes out and gets the next person in line. So on and so on, until all 10 people get in. Everything was going smooth until half way through the line when my buddy T, who is well beyond "buzzed", grabs a ticket and goes rogue within seconds. Boom, gone, and now we have half our group in reserved and one drunk T wandering aimlessly around the crowd with the other ticket. Long story, short, we somehow spot him on the hillside, put him in "timeout" and get the rest of the group in and later come back for him. 10 minute mission took 1 hour.
Acoustic set: "Watchtower", couldn't believe my ears. Never saw this coming as the opener. Never. Was busy still trying to sneak people in, but was able to go down the aisles as Dave played. "Grace", always gets the heart beating. Beautiful as ever, especially with the sun-setting at that moment. "SSA"...was not familiar with, and didn't really pay attention. "Billies", classic billies. "LW", change of pace, still getting settled. And as for "RnR"/"Crash"/"Typical" was blown away with all of them, yes, even "Crash". Now this was the acoustic set I had been waiting for. Missed acoustic N1 and N2 just seemed like background music.
Electric set: "BOWA" love this as an opener. I think it is because it is the opening track on "UTAD", but it just feels like "Best" was made to open a show. "WTWE"/"Squirm"/"LLD"/"CB", even though these are not my favorite songs live, the euphoria our group was feeling could not be brought down at this point. I now remember how much better reserved seating is than the hillside. Never ceases to amaze me that DmB is right there in front of me, making these incredible sounds. "Jimi/Grey Street", always great live, and classics among the fanbase, felt like "GS" took the show to the next level. Still puzzled with "SAWG", it honestly felt very out of place, especially considering it was a "tour debut" and had not been played live since 2006. I don't think it go the "pop" that Dave expected it to get. Not that it was bad in any way, just feel that if you are going to bring back something from more than 5+years that it should be something that people are very familiar with. "Drunken Soldier" is probably my favorite track, along with "The Riff" on AFTW, so I was frozen in place. Love the different layers to "Drunken Soldier". And than "Sledgehammer" hit. Thank god, my body reminded me what it was, because I could familiarize with the sound but just didn't expect it at all. Had a feeling it was the final song before the encore and really expected #41 at this point. However, I am actually happy "Sledgehammer" was the choice.
Encore: "Some Devil" is my favorite Dave solo encore. Emotion just pours out of this song. Very heavy feeling at this point, but in a good way. "The Stone", hands down the highlight of the night for me. I have never seen "The Stone" as an encore and it feel so strong. I couldn't get enough. As "The Stone" hit, I was praying it would be "#41", I felt that it would just cap off one of the best shows I had seen.....but, it was not meant to be. "Monkey" was solid, but I just do not feel that it should be the closing song to a show. I feel it should be an opener, or after a slower song, but regardless the show was incredible.
Rating: 4.5/5
Lowlights: "Monkey" to close the weekend (being picky), no real lowlights.
Highlights: Great encore, more of what I expected with the "2set" dynamic/"Typical"/"Sledgehammer"/"Some Devil"....and highlight of the entire weekend "The Stone" as an encore. Goosebumps the whole time, lost my voice for the next week because of it.
Until 2015 and shows #34, #35 and #36

This was my first time at the Gorge. All 3 nights were amazing. The set lists had a great variety and the band was incredible. I was really impressed by this venue as well. Gorge security did a great job of making sure fans that had gotten in line early got in first and without being trampled by people behind them that had gotten there later. As a result we got the best spot on the lawn all 3 nights. It was fun to meet other fans and we danced the whole time. It was such a blast!

Redonkulous.com. Until they got to Squirm I thought it was one if the absolute best runs I've ever witnessed. I could do without Corn Bread and Can't Stop, but otherwise the show was Top 5 for me. WatchTower Opener Set 1 was a nice surprise. BOWA to open set two was also a treat, as was Stone in the encore. I liked how the brought to Lovley Ladies out throughout the night in different placed. It's really nice when the set list breaks from the patterns. Running into Matt and Joe from Ants (for the first time) was icing on the cake . Great conversations, lots of laughs.

Pit for Night 3. Watchtower intro, unreal. BOWA opener, awesome. Rashawn playing the keys (and screwing up the first riff only to tell Dave "one more try") unforgettable. Sledgehammer to finish and The Stone in the encore really made this a great finish to the weekend. Fingers crossed for box-set

The acoustic set alone was worth the price of admission. Finally got a Best of whats around opener, and lover lay down again after 11 years of not seeing it. Sure, some of the songs weren't my favorites, but I actually thought the lovely ladies added positive things to every song. The Stone was exceptional as always, and getting to hear Steady As We Go in such a raw form was something I'll never forget. Incredible weekend all around!

Acoustic set was the best of the tour IMO. Loved the Watchtower opener, so unique. Loving Wings and Typical were perfect. The electric set started out well with BOWA, WTWE, and LLD, and I really enjoyed Cornbread w/DRH. I thought the energy took a nosedive during Jimi and the Lovely Ladies contributed to a very predictable ending. Just as disappointment set in during Some Devil here comes the Stone! Perfect version of a song I
