Another 5 from me, if I had to choose I enjoyed Melb more than Syd. Great venue, on the rail in front of Boyd and closer to the drums than I could wish for.
Great set list, topped off by Carter personally acknowledging me at the start of Too Much, caught on my iPhone too! :)

Average set list, but what a beautiful venue! Amazing. Poor Boyd dropped his bow about 4 times, once for so long that Dave had to pick it up and give it back, and another was so bad it flew off the stage to security. Hope Boyd is OK.

I have seen all DMB shows that have been in melbourne, and this one ranks higher than their last visit at Vodaphone arena 7 years ago (despite a better setlist last time), but not quite as good as the intimate shows at the Palais when they first visited all those years ago.
I feel as though it was a show for DMB fans as they focused quite heavily on the last 2 albums, which would give the impression that they knew they were playing for people who had heard those albums rather than their first tour out here which was like a greatest hits set. Personally I think the last 2 albums have been superior to the albums that preceeded their last tour, so that probably also colors my thoughts about the last tour.
I also feel as if the band is more cohesive again now. Obviously the personnel are very different this tour than last tour (Coffin for Moore, Tim for Butch)I also feel that the horn section feels far more settled, I think Rashawn obviously feels far more comfortable, and I have read interviews that indicates this is the case....
But what a great night. Good weather, good opener in Gary Clark Jnr. I was surprised that he wasnt invited out for a guest spot. I picked the DDTW opener, but was slightly disappointed that BTCS wasn't represented slightly more fully in the set. I was particularly impressed with how the new albums translate in a live setting...VERY well! All in all a top gig. Hope they don't stay away too long this time, it's pretty clear they have a massive and loyal following here..
