Last night's show was the hottest in Virginia Beach since 2012 which still stands as the best show ever at the venue. And no Ants, Satellite, Crush, SMLAM or Grey Street. All overplayed at this venue. Acoustic Set: Whiter Shade / Needle: Fine Oh: Not Bad So Damn Lucky: Smokin' hot with great guitar duel between Tim and Dave. Excellent version Old Dirt Hill: This actually sounded really good. No complaints. Typical: Stellar version, lots of jamming. Recently: Amazing? PFWYG: First ever at Farm Bureau. No complaints. Tripping Billies: Blistering Billies. Electric Set: Stay: If there is a song for the LL, this is yet and I must say this position in the set is much better than set closer. LIOG: Tremendous, best version by far played at VB. Boyd's solo was off the hook. Best non-guest version I've ever heard. Crash: UGH Rooftop: Can't find anything I like about this song. #41: A very good version; not quite as hot as the version several years back with Joe Lawlor but quite good. Reynolds was very hot during this. WTWE: Used to be way overplayed; now not bad to hear once in a while. Now shelve it for a few more years. Can't Stop: I actually kind of like this song. I believe it was 2012 when Gary Clark Jr. guested on this song and it was smokin'. Tolerable last night. You and Me: Wife loves this song so it was fine. SMTS>ASTB>TOO MUCH: Despise Too Much but the rest was kind of fun. Virginia in the Rain: Seems like an ok song. PNP>Rapunzel: Average version; played a lot at this venue. The rain was not bad and made for a different evening. This was a very good DMB concert.

Really nice energy to end the acoustic set and to begin the electric set. The run of can't stop, be yourself, and you and me was a total buzzkill for me. The band was very tonight on this night; performances were awesome. Overall, a solid show.

Acoustic set was stellar, electric set had a long dip in energy for me. Always love Rapunzel to finish the night. Not my favorite set list ever, but as always a fabulous time listening to a great band. I love the crowd vibe at this venue, people are super friendly. Thanks VA for showing this MA girl another good time!

Acoustic set was amazing. The set definitely took a nosedive near the end, but recovered for the very end and the encore.

Great show lots of energy! Weather was poor in the beginning but got better as time went on. Pit crowd was great and we had lots of space up front. Recently was a big highlight for me. Typical Situation was just amazing! LIOG was great to hear and hear them finish it too. I thought all the songs were great with the exception of the encore. They had too much energy to not play Two Step or Halloween. The Virginia song was great to hear since they acknowledged it was the first time they played it in Virginia. The poster is also one of my top favs!! Absolutely beautiful!

Was at Charlotte the night before, and this was one more killer encore from being its equal. Maybe not quite as intense, but a great show. And who could mind seeing #41 or Typical Situation two nights in a row! Again, I thought the LL were used very well, and added a lot to the show. I find it interesting they get huge ovations at the show. Look, all this is is the evolution of a band. My other Fave is Bruce Springsteen. Does he come out there with a small band, super tight jeans, and only sing stuff from Born in the USA or earlier? Hell no! He now has a choir, horn section, and 17 band members! He sings lots of new stuff too. He's older, his band has evolved, and the newer songs are different. But every bit as good! He doesn't take flak either. Maybe those whining about the LL and set lists need to grow up too. DMB is still the best. As always!

acoustic set was pretty incredible and electric started well but the second half and encore were very lackluster. the LL negativity is probably overdone at this point, but I honestly think they take more away than add to every song, I do not care for them. all this show needed was a Ants/Crush/Two Step/Last Stop/Stone/Dreaming Tree type song at the end instead of Can\'t Stop/You Me, which I beg to be shelved. Edit: Oh look, Jimi Thing was on the setlist in that area but skipped, yeah that would have been perfect.

I rarely write reviews but had a bad taste in my mouth after this one. My first time at this venue and 60th show overall. The poster was amazing and so disappointed how quickly it sold out. Waited in line for about 40 minutes in the rain before they sent us away....so anyway, on to the show! This show started out great! Loved the acoustic set with a few treats like Typical and PFWYG. I once was a strong supporter of the LLs and for some songs I still am. I never in a million years would have guessed Stay as the opener! So full of energy and the crowd was pumped! Song after song was amazing and I remember turning to my gf and some other fans around me during #41 and saying, "I hope this momentum keeps up"...talk about sticking my foot in my mouth. After WTWE, momentum just died. On comes the triple threat with the LLs joining in on Can't Stop, Be Yourself and You and Me. It was like a punch right through my chest. Worst three songs in a row I've ever heard. SMTS-->ASTB-->TM couldn't save the end of the show, then a mediocre encore just seemed too little too late. I was glad for Dave though that he got to play Virginia in the Rain while it was raining in Virginia. He seemed pretty excited about it. I'm never one to complain, hell, I'll defend songs like "If Only" and "Mercy" to my death, but "Be Yourself" needs to go away or be reworked. I wanted to love this show and I did at one point...but left kind of deflated.

Rain did not matter in this performance. The boys were on fire. Typical, Recently, LIOG, and PFWYG were my show highlights. They have really stepped it up recently at Va Beach.

One of the best shows I've seen at this venue! Last time I was there (2013) was one of the not so good shows I was at if you look solely at the setlist. Not so for this show! Everyone was hot tonight and the setlist was perfect IMHO. Others might disagree, but the ladies added to some of the songs that were played they were on. Virginia in the Rain was a perfect addition, especially considering it had been raining most if not all evening. A bit slow, but I appreciated being able to hear it for the first time.

Another God awful electric set. This is pretty much a waste of talent here. Hell with pretty much actually. These great musicians are underachieving like fuck. The majority of the electric sets these past two tours (and the Lovely Ladies are a major reason why) have really been terrible.

This show will be remembered for it's extreme highs and lows. Acoustic set fit so perfectly with the weather. Had an absolute blast in the rain. Was hoping to catch Stone or Beach Ball in there but it's hard to complain about Whiter Shade and Recently instead. Was completely blown away by Pay For What You Get! Finally crossed that one off my list and couldn't have been happier. I hesitate to crash on Typical but I'd just gotten it at the Raleigh show in the Electric set with Branford, so this go 'round, it was surprisingly a low light. The second set started off so strong. Stay is a fantastic opener, a great use of the Ladies and an all around good tune. Boyd was on fire in LIOG. Crash is always welcomed along with #41. When The World Ends, for better or worse, is the tune that initially sparked my full blown DMB fandom. I think it's the song for someone just getting into the band. Solid lyrics, not too long and perfectly showcases that optimistic and yet melancholy vibe that so many of their best tunes give off. I've been chasing this song since my first show in '07. Finally after 17 shows it popped up and I was ecstatic! I think the band nails this tune in its current format and hopefully I'll catch it a lot more now! From there on out, the show was kind of a whiff. Can't Stop wasn't bad, You & Me was just okay, but when that's the bread of a Be Yourself sandwich, the whole run tastes terrible. It's inexcusable to neglect JTR on a night like this when the Ladies can be featured and the lawn is packed despite driving rain. It's the second time I've been to a Virginia show where the weather was prime for JTR and still no dice. Although I didn't go to Charlotte, I noticed quite a few repeats from the night before and yet, BOWA (one of the highlights from Friday night), was sadly left off on Saturday. Another stinger is the number of tunes that popped up all around this show, either the week before at SPAC or directly after. Dreaming Tree, Pig, Captain, Say Goodbye all came out of the wood works but none popped up here. As SMTS started, I got my hopes up for SMTS>>Bridge>>TM (fake)>>Ants. But still, in its regular format, this is a great way to finish. I was extremely impressed with Virginia in the Rain, knew it was coming and it fit perfectly as an E1. However, the night could've been redeemed by a quick #40 tease (just played the weekend before at SPAC) and finally, by closing with anything besides PNP>>Rapunzel. A classic Two Step or Watchtower would've done the trick or something ballsier like Pig or Drive In Drive Out would've worked out better too. I love catching these guys a couple of times every summer but by doing so I can't help but offer up some simple critiques or throw around some wishful thinking.

front row dead center in the pit and really couldn't ask for a better show. without a doubt the best VB show I've seen. Just don't understand the hate. #41 and typical were highlights and virginia in the rain was just magical and meaningful.

very wet, first time in seats since 95, good choice, the kids on the hill got soaked! Loved the Lovely ladies. First set acoustic was a nice change. Opened with Whiter Shade of Pale and Needle and the Damage Done. Straight forward second set, Loved! The Lovely Ladies! Virginia in the Rain was Expected but very fitting.

Few highlights but overall very average with a lot of repeats from the night before. Weather was horrible and crowd wasn't much better. Lots of empty seats in sect 102. Encore left a lot to be desired. Bright spot was the poster - I love the sperry print.

Being in the pit always kicks it up a notch. Very solid and high energy show. Song selection was fairly standard...I would have loved him to pull out something unexpected to make this a truly memorable night. Dave's solo acoustic of Whiter Shade of Pale was just beautiful. Rooftop is not a song I initially cared for, but the live versions are really growing on me...so much soul!
